Reporting something harmful
Open the case, tap the menu in the top corner, and choose Report a safety concern. The case disappears from your court straight away and the report goes to a review queue. You do not have to wait for us to act to stop seeing it.
If you would rather just not see something, Hide this case removes it without accusing anyone, and Block removes everything by that author from your court. Neither tells the other person.
If someone is in danger, contact your local emergency services. We are not an emergency service and cannot help urgently.
Deleting your account
Chambers → Court settings → Delete account. This removes your account, your cases, your ballots, and your standing immediately and permanently. If you cannot get into the app, email us from the address on the account and we will do it.
Changing your court name
Chambers → the pencil next to your name. Apple only shares a name on your very first sign-in, so if yours says "Juror" this is where to fix it. Your name appears on cases you file; your ballots always use a per-case alias instead.
Verdict notifications
We ask permission after your first ballot, not at launch — by then there is actually a result coming. Alerts arrive when a case you took part in closes, and never between 10pm and 8am your local time. If several close at once you get one summary instead of a pile.
To turn them off, use iOS Settings → Overruled → Notifications.
Common questions
Why can't I vote on my own case?
Your opening statement is your voice in the case. The ruling belongs to everyone else.
Why is the score hidden?
So nobody votes with the crowd. The split and the written opinions appear together when the clock closes.
My case expired without a verdict.
A verdict needs at least three ballots. Below that the court has nothing worth calling a result, so the case expires rather than pretending. You can file it again with a longer clock.
Why was my take rejected?
Most often because it named or described a real person. Overruled puts ideas on trial, not people — rewriting it about the habit rather than the person usually passes. The full rules are in the terms.
Can I add a photo?
Not yet. Photo exhibits are being built properly rather than half-shipped, so for now the opening statement is the whole record.
